SIGNAL BRIEF
Issue #14 · Monday, September 14, 2026 · 5 AI tools for B2B SaaS product managers

Five AI tools that shipped in the last seven days — what each one does, why it matters if you run product at a B2B SaaS company, and where to look. No sponsors, no noise. This week’s thread: the source of truth has to stay true. Every tool below turns an artifact a product manager already owns — the spec, the API contract, the docs repo, the product’s own interface, the support playbook — into the thing agents read and act on. What separates these five is that each one ships a way to keep that artifact current, because a spec an agent acts on that has quietly drifted is worse than no spec at all. |
|
EasySpecs, launched September 11, auto-documents your actual codebase and turns it into specifications paired with “oracles” (machine-runnable pass/fail checks) and “rubrics” (scored judgment criteria), so a spec can be verified against reality before an agent writes a line of code against it. Why it matters for PMs: The quality gate moved. When agents generate code faster than anyone can review it, the merge request stops being where you catch problems — the spec is. EasySpecs is built explicitly for the technical product manager: it generates functional documentation from the real code, so you can sanity-check a spec against how the app actually behaves without opening a source file, and it plugs into Jira and Linear so the spec is ready the moment engineering picks it up. An MCP server lets your coding agents pull the approved spec and mark it implemented, which closes the loop between what you asked for and what shipped. Two caveats worth pricing in: the maker says drift detection between spec and code is not yet in production, and this is a launch-week tool — pilot it on one messy repo before it owns your process. |
You have read tool 1 in full. 4 more are behind the trial.
Each one below has the same three things the tool above did — a one-sentence description, the full why-it-matters-for-PMs line, and the direct link:
- Cortex gives your API an agent interface off one contractcortexdocs.dev
- Thousand makes an agent a member of the docsusethousand.com
- Frigade’s Assist API lets your agent point at the buttonfrigade.com
- Typewise Nova operates the AI operationtypewise.app
