Claudeforce brings Salesforce into Claude

What it does

One day after expanding Headless 360, Salesforce and Anthropic on Wednesday announced Claudeforce, an expanded strategic partnership whose first product is Salesforce in Claude: a plugin for Anthropic’s Claude CoWork that ships with 37 prebuilt sales skills — meeting preparation, deal health reviews, pipeline analysis — and lets sellers reason over live revenue context, automate pipeline updates, and take governed action without ever opening Salesforce. The skills were co-built by the two companies to exploit Claude’s reasoning, agentic tool use, and generative UI — explicitly not generic CRM prompts wrapped around an API — and include an onboarding experience that reads a seller’s enterprise context across Salesforce, Slack, and other Claude connectors to generate a tailored dashboard of accounts, pipeline, and live data. Under the hood, the plugin runs on AIforce, Salesforce’s new trusted enterprise harness that exposes business data, workflows, and governance through MCP servers, APIs, and CLI tools; every action routes through Salesforce so existing business rules and record-level permissions are enforced, and an administrator connects the plugin once, centrally, rather than configuring users one by one. The partnership runs in the other direction too: Claude becomes a reasoning model inside Agentforce and the default model across Slack — powering Slackbot, which Salesforce credits with 8.1 million hours of annualized productivity gains, up more than 2x quarter-over-quarter — and Claude Code and Claude Enterprise roll out to all Salesforce developers and knowledge workers. In briefings, Salesforce executives described a seller’s morning ritual of evaluating opportunities as “10,000 clicks” that Claude now executes in about 30 seconds, and demoed dashboards coded on the fly from governed Salesforce data — what one executive called vibe-coding your own CRM. Salesforce in Claude is available to select pilot customers now, with an open beta planned for September and additional skills for other business functions beginning in late 2026. Chair and CEO Marc Benioff: “Here, the UI is the AI.”

Why it matters for PMs

Yesterday’s Headless 360 expansion was the infrastructure thesis; today’s launch is the product bet built on it — and the clearest signal yet that the B2B application UI is becoming optional. Three implications. First, distribution is moving onto agent surfaces: if your product can live where knowledge workers already are — Claude, Slack, their IDE — with inherited permissions and one-time admin setup, you remove the friction that keeps enterprise AI stuck in pilots; if it can’t, you are a destination nobody visits. Second, the architecture worth copying is permission inheritance: agents act with the user’s existing authorization and every action routes through the system of record, so governance is a property of the workflow rather than a review after it. Third, watch the pricing: Salesforce bills headless consumption while Anthropic bills inference — two invoices, no single piece of paper yet — a preview of how enterprise software gets unbundled and re-billed when agents are the primary consumers. And the boldest claim, that customers will “vibe code their own CRM” against governed data, points at a future where part of your product is a surface users generate at runtime. Decide which of your surfaces should stay fixed — and which should become prompts.
