What it does
LaunchNotes announced Thursday that AI agents can now run its release-notes and roadmap platform: a hosted MCP server with LaunchNotes sign-in — no API tokens to generate, paste, or rotate — installs once into Claude Code, Claude Desktop, claude.ai, or Cursor and exposes 29 tools plus eight ready-made skills built around how product and marketing teams actually work. Close a milestone in Jira and your agent pulls the closed issues, checks what has already been announced, writes the release note in your voice, tags the categories, attaches every source issue, links the roadmap item, and lands it as a draft; other skills cross-reference this quarter’s top announcements with adoption in Pendo and put a summary in Confluence, cluster reader feedback into themes and propose roadmap items with the request volume behind each one, or report how last week’s announcement performed across engagement, sentiment, and reach. Two governance choices stand out: the agent acts as you, with exactly the permissions your LaunchNotes role already has, and it runs on your own assistant and model, so there is no new AI vendor for your security team to review — and everything customer-facing is draft-first, publishing only on your confirmation. General availability is next; the beta is open now.
Why it matters for PMs
Release communication and roadmap hygiene are the chores that slip when shipping gets busy; an agent that turns closed tickets into a drafted, on-brand announcement — with a human gate before anything publishes — removes the last mile of shipping. The governance model is as notable as the features: user-level auth plus draft-first is the bar every PM should demand before letting an agent touch a customer-facing surface.
