UserTesting Advanced Targeting

What it does
UserTesting launched Advanced Targeting on Wednesday — the first major product release since its acquisition of User Interviews, and one that folds User Interviews’ entire participant network directly into the UserTesting platform. Research, product, design, and marketing teams can now recruit verified B2B professionals, niche consumer audiences, and hard-to-reach specialists — senior decision-makers, small-business owners, specialized technology professionals, and participants across complex industries like finance and healthcare — without switching tools or managing a second vendor: define advanced audience criteria, set custom incentives calibrated to audience difficulty, see participant costs and fees against a shared prepaid balance, and launch the study, all in one workflow. The combined network spans 3.2 million professionals across 140 industries and more than seven million participants across 34 countries, and Advanced Targeting supports unmoderated tests, interaction tests, live conversations, and surveys. It is available now as an Early Access offering running through September 30.
Why it matters for PMs
Recruiting the right users — especially B2B buyers with real purchasing authority — has been the slowest, most expensive step of discovery, and the reason “we talked to users” too often means “we talked to whoever we could find.” Collapsing panel access, incentives, and study launch into a single workflow turns hard-to-reach segments from a quarterly research project into a routine validation step. Watch the consolidation too: research platforms are buying the networks, which makes standalone recruiting panels a feature, not a company.
