SurveyMonkey’s plugin for ChatGPT

Covered by Signal Brief for B2B SaaS product managers — one of 5 tools in Issue #5 · surveymonkey.com

What it does

SurveyMonkey launched a plugin for ChatGPT on Wednesday, bringing customer, employee, and market feedback directly into the conversation: teams can create, edit, and send surveys in natural language, access and analyze survey data in real time to spot trends and patterns across surveys without exporting anything, combine past surveys with external sources to uncover deeper insights without starting from scratch, and manage the entire process from creation to analysis without leaving the chat interface. The plugin is powered by the Model Context Protocol — the secure standard that lets ChatGPT access and interact with SurveyMonkey data — and is available now through the ChatGPT Plugin Directory. It follows SurveyMonkey’s Claude connector, which launched in May, and CEO Eric Johnson framed the move plainly: teams are already using ChatGPT as a thought partner to write briefs, analyze data, and plan strategy, but better decisions still require input from real people. SurveyMonkey says it is now available inside two of the world’s most widely used AI platforms, with more to come.

Why it matters for PMs

Survey and feedback data is the classic locked asset — evidence that lives in a tab you visit, export, and paste into the document where the decision is actually being made. Making it queryable inside the AI workspace where briefs and strategy already get drafted turns voice-of-customer data from an artifact into a live input. And it names the pattern to watch: feedback vendors that show up inside your AI workflow will displace the ones that make you come to them.
